International society Annual Meeting travel grant

Through mutual arrangements with several international dermatological societies, the International Affairs Committee of the AAD offers travel grants to dermatology residents, fellows or young dermatologists (within five years of completing residency) from the United States and Canada in Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the successful applicants to meet foreign colleagues and establish long-lasting professional relationships. Past attendees have been uniformly appreciative of the chance to go to these meetings.

Details about 2014 meetings application deadlines and information are forthcoming. "I had a chance to meet with numerous dermatologists and dermatology residents with whom I hope to continue both personal and professional relationships."
— Tatyana Hamilton, MD

  • Each program may only submit two applicants for the scholarships and only one applicant per international meeting.
  • Applicants must have completed at least one year of training by the time of the meeting.
  • Individuals are eligible for either scholarship only one time during their careers.
  • Applicants will need to attach a letter of nomination from their dermatology residency training director to the online application.

The application period for 2013 meetings is closed. Information about the 2014 meetings is forthcoming.

Applicants will be notified in November about the status of their applications. Please note that prior to applying, all potential scheduling conflicts must be resolved because scholarship recipients who do not participate take the opportunity away from other applicants. Individuals are eligible for either scholarship only one time during their careers.
