Since the 1970s, the Academy has offered a program to recognize individual learning activities for AAD Recognized Credit. Academy members who participate in approved AAD Recognized Credit activities can apply earned credits toward achieving the AAD CME Award. About 10 percent of Academy members hold an AAD CME Award.

In addition, 85 percent of Academy members indicated in a 2007 member needs survey that it is important to them that the education programs in which they participate are approved for AAD Recognized Credit. Providing your participants with AAD Recognized Credit is a sure way to add value to your medical education activity and to demonstrate that your program provides education that is of value to the field of dermatology.
