Dermatology in Action
The launch of the Academy’s Dermatology in Action project proved successful, with more than 80 volunteers showing up to work with HandsOn New Orleans in the Lower 9th Ward Village community center. They were able to paint and fix up various garden features; they also constructed a new garden space, built trellises, and contributed to murals that emphasized the importance of a college education. Volunteers were able to leave behind a $2,000 donation for future improvements to the community center.
The success of the event led to the scheduling of a follow-up in San Diego at the 70th Annual Meeting.
