Dear colleagues,
The Academy appreciates the generosity of our individual supporters and our corporate partners which helps ensure that we have the resources we need to carry out our mission. Their contributions are an important part of our overall organizational vitality, a key priority on our strategic framework, and in 2011 we did important work to ensure that we continue to build on this strong support in the future.
Over the past year we have enhanced our individual giving programs which include the Sustaining Fund, the 1938 Legacy Society (Planned Gifts), and our new Major Gifts Program. We continue to foster a culture of philanthropy by sharing with our members and others the tremendous impact their gifts have on the lives of patients, and on the specialty.
We also continued to identify new corporate partners and strengthen relationships with our existing partners. AAD President Ronald L. Moy, MD, and David M. Pariser, MD, chair of our Corporate Relations Task Force, participated in 14 corporate visits in 2011, during which they discussed current and future partnerships and engaged in strategic discussion about the roles of those companies in dermatology and how we could each work collaboratively to achieve our respective missions and strategic priorities.
On behalf of Development Committee and the Academy, I would like to thank all of our supporters in 2011 for their generous contributions, grants and sponsorships which helped to make 2011 another outstanding year for AAD programs.
