Late Breaking Research Guidelines

You are invited to submit abstract presentations for review and selection for the Late Breaking Research Session at the 71th Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology on March 2, 2013 in Miami, FL.

QUALIFICATIONS
All members of the Academy are invited to submit abstract presentations for review and selection of Late Breaking Research.

Members, non-members, fellows, research fellows, residents and medical students may attend this session.

PRESENTATIONS
The Late Breaking Research session provides an opportunity for a 9-minute presentation plus 3 minutes for questions. A maximum of 15 abstracts can be accepted for oral presentation and 5-10 alternates. Abstracts selected will reflect the best research from clinical trials, epidemiological studies and basic research in dermatology. Abstract descriptions are limited to 200 words.

DO NOT INCLUDE photos at this time. Photos may be presented if your abstract is selected to be presented at the Late Breaking Science session.

GRADING OF ABSTRACTS
All abstracts are blind reviewed by the Late Breaking Research symposium faculty. Abstracts should clearly identify the background, approach, results, innovation and relevance of their research to dermatology.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE
Deadline for receipt of applications is January 25, 2013, at 5:00pm (CST).

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
  • Applications must be submitted online at www.aad.org. Incomplete, faxed or late entries will not be accepted. There will be no exceptions.
  • Abstracts will be blinded by the Academy office for the judging process.
  • The primary author will serve as the presenter at the Late Breaking Research session during the Academy Annual Meeting. Please make sure the primary author is identified in the abstract by bold underlining.
  • Applicants must ensure that the following fields are completed: affiliation, address, city, state, country, providence, zip code, phone #, fax # and email.
  • Applicants are required to disclose any financial relationships with commercial companies.
  • Published material or material that has been previously presented should not be submitted.
  • No more than one abstract per primary author may be submitted.

All applications will receive a written email notification of the decision.
